The MIAVIT GmbH, headquartered in Essen Oldb., was founded in 1964 and is now already in third generation. The guiding principle of our family business then as now is called “prevention instead of medication”. The name MIAVIT is an abbreviation for all important minerals, amino acids and vitamins that are contained in our pre-mixtures. As a competent partner in the fields of feed additives, minerals and vitamins, we offer a high-quality and diverse range of products both in powdered form and in pastes and liquid variants.

Our Products
Best quality and highest standard
We offer you a wide range of animal feed for ruminants and livestock with pigs, cattle and poultry as well as for pet supplies with dogs and cats. Our decades of experience is reflected in our high quality products. All of our products are fabricated with absolute precision in our modern manufacturing plants and are also constantly examined by certified laboratories. The modern and environmentally friendly animal nutrition is always kept in mind. In addition, we only work with reliable and certified suppliers.

We are involved worldwide
For the benefit of animal health, MIAVIT is involved all over the world. In addition to the location in Essen Oldb., there are two other production sites in Tarragona (Spain) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) as well. Furthermore, there are branches in Izmir (Turkey) and Nairobi (Kenya). The distribution of the products extends over 80 countries, the export quota is over 50%.
No standstill
We are constantly growing and developing. The income is regularly invested in research and production, especially at the location in Essen. In recent years, the MIAVIT premises have more than doubled: There are ten independent computer-controlled mixing lines, the logistic center has been doubled, a new FSSC 22000 certified liquid production facility and another modern office building have been built. The company is growing continuously. Modern facilities, high standards and qualified employees ensure that there is no standstill and that things keep going.

Our employees represent the most valuable asset within the company. For this reason, we actively promote the compatibility of family and career. Our goal is to retain a stable team of permanent employees by maintaining our historically low staff fluctuation rate. In production in particular, our focus is on a permanent employment relationship with appropriate remuneration. We see ourselves as a global group in which people from over 12 nations work. In addition to the goal of employee retention, we also pay special attention to training. As a training company, we currently offer 11 different apprenticeships. It is important to us that we attract young and talented employees to our company. Due to our commitment to training, our home economics graduates have already been awarded prizes in regional and state competitions.

As an owner-managed company, it is important to MIAVIT to continue the success of the business through investment and growth and to create jobs locally. Product safety right from the start
Consistent quality management is more than just an official seal for us. We are conscious of our role as an important member in the processing chain and want to continue contributing to this by strengthening the high level of consumer trust in the meat-producing and processing industry.
Our quality management runs through the entire manufacturing process, from formulation creation to buying of raw materials, receipt and storage of incoming raw materials, right through to production and dispatch. A preventative risk assessment of our production chain is performed through our HACCP concept, so that possibly risks can be prevented or minimised in advance.

How is product quality ensured at MIAVIT?
- Analytical monitoring: Annually over 16,000 analyses, of which 13,000 are tested in our own laboratory. Costs: > 450,000 EUR
- 100 % traceability: Our barcode system guarantees 100 % traceability within the shortest space of time. This is regularly checked using our established MIAVIT early warning system.
- Separate mixing lines: We have already been able to manufacture in two completely separate mixing plants since 2004. A total of seven independent mixing lines guarantee the highest level of product purity. A precise production batch record guarantees (almost) no carry-over.
- Further training of employees: We ensure that our employees regularly take part in further and advanced training. The training quota at MIAVIT is far above the German average.
- Supplier management: Continuous supplier assessment and auditing, intensive approval processes for new raw materials and suppliers, regular raw material risk analyses by a MIAVIT “expert workgroup”.
- Formulation development: Controlled, documented development of MIAVIT special products and highest quality assurance, among others through dual-review in the customer’s own formulation development.
- Audits: All QM measures are checked every year through numerous audits. The organisation and realisation of customer audits and the corresponding certification audits are an important component of the MIAVIT QM system verification.
- Complaint processing: Every customer complaint is checked and processed precisely. Through statistical evaluation of all the complaints, appropriate corrective measures are developed to prevent and reduce errors.
