To ensure safe and effective application of liquid products, key water parameters should be monitored regularly. Particularly important are a pH range of 5.0 to 7.5, good microbiological quality and a water temperature between 15 and 25°C. High temperatures can negatively affect sensitive ingredients such as vitamins and live microorganisms, while biofilms and microbial contamination may reduce product performance.
Not everything belongs in the water line at the same time
Different products are often applied consecutively through the drinking water system. In these situations, the correct sequence is essential.
As a general rule, vaccines should always come first. After vaccination, a minimum interval of three hours should be observed before administering any other products through the water system. It is also advisable to stop the use of disinfectants before vaccination, medication or liquid nutritional products to avoid compromising their effectiveness.
Following antibiotic treatment, probiotics such as MiaClost can be used to support the re-establishment of a healthy gut microbiota. For best results, probiotics should be administered 24 to 36 hours after the final antibiotic application.
Applying MIAVIT products correctly
One of the most important recommendations is simple: when in doubt, apply products separately.
Products based on essential oils should not be administered at the same time as probiotics or live vaccines. Acidifying products may negatively affect the stability of sensitive vitamins. Likewise, trace elements can accelerate vitamin oxidation under certain conditions. For this reason, separating product groups in time is often the safest and most effective approach.
A practical example is the use of MiaPhos and MiaCalcium PlusD. Both products provide important nutritional benefits for bone and eggshell, but they should not be mixed in the same water tank. Instead, MiaPhos can be applied in the morning and MiaCalcium PlusD later in the day. This helps maintain product stability and ensures optimal performance of both products.
Do not forget the water lines
Before and after each application, the drinking system should be flushed with clean water. This removes residues, prevents unwanted interactions with subsequent products and helps reduce the buildup of deposits and biofilms within the water lines.
The effectiveness of liquid products depends not only on their formulation, but also on water quality and correct application management. By ensuring clean water with suitable water parameters and the right sequence of products, producers create the conditions needed for vaccines, medication and nutritional supplements to perform at their best. Water quality is therefore not only a hygiene issue, but also a key management tool for modern poultry production.
