Local partnership: a visit to Ethiopia
Working alongside Vétérinaires Sans Frontières in Ethiopia
Our colleagues Lea Middendorf and Marian Altemeier travelled to Ethiopia last week with Vétérinaires Sans Frontières to strengthen our existing partnership and exchange ideas with our local project partners.
During their stay, they visited the Vétérinaires Sans Frontières country office and got to know the local team. Another item on the agenda was a tour of the rabies project, during which the newly built shelter for stray dogs was also presented.
The work on the ground vividly demonstrated the important contribution the project makes to improving animal health.
The programme also included a visit to the German Embassy in Addis Ababa and in-depth discussions about the joint research project.
Another key focus of the visit was the professional exchange on current challenges and developments in Ethiopian agriculture and, in particular, among the local pastoralists.
The trip provided a valuable opportunity to further expand cooperation with the project partners, gain new impetus for joint initiatives and strengthen personal ties.

The face-to-face exchanges with local project partners have once again demonstrated how important international cooperation is for sustainable solutions in line with the One Health approach. The insights gained and discussions held will inform our continued collaboration and future joint projects.
